What is baptism?
Baptism is the first step of obedience in the life of a Christian (Matt. 28:18-20). It is also a way for Christians to be publicly identified with Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection. Baptism does not bring salvation (Eph. 2:8-9), but symbolizes our new life, much like a wedding ring symbolizes one’s marital status.
How can I be baptized at Parker Memorial?
Respond to the invitation at the end of one of our services and let one of our pastors know that you are interested in being baptized. We will talk with you about your decision to follow Jesus, then schedule a time in the near future for worship service baptism.
Your baptism can take place in the worship service of your choosing: 8;30am or 11:00am.
What does it mean to be a member of the Parker Memorial Church family?
Membership at Parker Memorial Baptist Church Church is a way to identify with our vision (1 Pet. 5:2-3), to connect with one another (Heb. 10:24-25), and to serve God and people (1 Cor. 12:12-13).
How can I become a member of PMBC?
Please let one of our ministers know anytime after the service or during the week of your desire to become a member of the Parker family. We will have a brief meeting with you, take a photo, then plan for a particular Sunday to announce your decision at the end of a worship service. At that time, we will display you or your family photograph on the worship screen for viewing.
